Along with rediscovering the well at Idlewild and designating it as a place for prayer, I’ve also felt called to regularly pray over the entire property. As I prayed, I felt inspired to create a border around the property with various rocks, symbolizing God’s promises and protection over this sacred space.
As I considered where to find the perfect stones for this purpose, I thought of my friend Sandi Padilla, a Christian musician, author, and rock hunter and collector from Colorado. Previously, we've had several conversations about faith and creativity, and I felt like she would understand my vision.
Sharing experiences like these always carries the risk of being misunderstood or even rejected, but I when I shared my story with Sandi, she was excited and supportive. She shared that she had helped a friend write Bible verses on stakes and place them around her friend's property, with the same intentions I had for mine.
She agreed to send me the rocks, and soon, a package filled with the most beautiful stones and crystals arrived! I had expected simple earth-colored rocks from Sandi’s rock-hunting adventures, but Sandi had gifted me beyond my expectations! She sent a package of true treasures—stones and crystals that she had collected and purposefully chosen for my mission. Inside with the package she included a chart that correlated each stone with a Bible verse.
After discussing it with my daughter Justina, we decided that such treasures deserved a special container—a treasure box! We carefully placed each stone inside the box and wrote the corresponding chapter and verses on the inside lid of the box. Together, we prayerfully buried the stones around the property's perimeter.
Thank you dear friends for following along and joining us on this journey! May God continue to grant us all wisdom and clear direction as we serve him with our gifts.
